New Holland 8010 Overview

Blue New Holland 8010 tractor with an open station and four-wheel drive on a gravel farm drive.

The New Holland 8010 is a six-cylinder 10S Series tractor produced from 1994 through 2003. The Ford 8010 and New Holland 8010 names refer to the same North American tractor family; the later T8010 and the unrelated India-market four-cylinder 8010/9010 are different machines.

The naturally aspirated 456 cubic inch diesel is rated at 2,100 rpm in the New Holland repair-manual table. Published material gives 96 claimed PTO horsepower, but no matching independent tractor-test report supports relabelling that claim as tested power.

Low Profile and High Clearance tractors need separate treatment. The standard listing includes an 8F/2R gear transmission or 16F/4R Dual Power, while the 1997 High Clearance tractor used a 12F/3R creeper transmission or 16F/4R Dual Power, four-wheel drive, 29 inches of drawbar clearance, and either 9.3 or 17.4 US gpm hydraulic flow.

New Holland 8010 Quick Answers

  • Production yearsThe North American six-cylinder New Holland 8010 family runs from 1994 through 2003. The official parts-catalog coverage found for the 8010 6 CYL AG TRACTOR begins in April 1996 and runs through December 2003.
  • Is the New Holland 8010 the same as the Ford 8010?Yes: Ford 8010 and New Holland 8010 refer to the same six-cylinder North American tractor family. Later T8010 and India-market 8010/9010 manuals or specifications belong to different tractors.
  • Engine and rated speedThe reviewed New Holland repair-manual table lists a naturally aspirated six-cylinder diesel with 456 cu in displacement, 17.5:1 compression, a 1-5-3-6-2-4 firing order, and a 2,100-rpm rated speed.
  • PTO horsepowerPublished sources give 96 claimed PTO horsepower. No matching independent performance report has been reviewed, so the page labels 96 hp as claimed rather than tested PTO power.
  • Transmission choicesThe standard listing has an 8F/2R unsynchronized gear transmission or 16F/4R Dual Power. The High Clearance tractor instead lists a 12F/3R constant-mesh creeper option or 16F/4R Dual Power.
  • Low Profile fluid capacitiesThe lubricant chart lists 5.5 US gal of 15W-40 engine oil. Rear axle, transmission, and hydraulic capacity is 16.3 US gal with single PTO or 17.5 US gal with two-speed PTO.
  • High Clearance fluid capacitiesThe High Clearance row lists 5.5 US gal of 15W-40 engine oil, 14.5 US gal in the rear axle/transmission/hydraulic system, and 4.8 US qt in the final reduction.
  • Hydraulic flow by configurationThe technical guide lists 17.4 US gpm for Low Profile tractors. High Clearance tractors list 9.3 US gpm standard or 17.4 US gpm optional, with two remotes standard in the 1997 announcement.
  • Engine oil, coolant, and front axleThe six-cylinder dealer chart lists 22.1 US qt of engine oil with filter, 4.2 US gal of coolant, and 6.3 US qt in the FWD front axle.
  • Historical filter numbersThe reviewed dealer chart lists engine-oil filter 86605897 and fuel filter 86555246 for the 8010 six-cylinder row. Confirm current supersessions, housing, and serial applicability before ordering.

Engine and Power

The reviewed New Holland engine table identifies a naturally aspirated 7,480 cc six-cylinder diesel with 17.5:1 compression, 750-rpm low idle, 2,250-rpm high idle, and a 2,100-rpm rated speed. The 96 hp figure remains claimed PTO power, not an independent test result.

Parts Checks Before Ordering

Do not order New Holland 8010 parts from the model name alone. Match the part to the correct 6-cylinder 8010 catalog, Ford/New Holland 8010 identity, transmission setup, PTO setup, Low Profile or Hi-Clear variant, and two- or four-wheel-drive equipment before choosing service parts.

The dealer chart lists historical engine-oil filter 86605897 and fuel filter 86555246, but air- and hydraulic-filter rows branch by housing and serial. Confirm current supersessions and the tractor's exact configuration in MyCNH before ordering.

Accuracy Note

Tractor specifications can vary by year, region, factory configuration, installed equipment, and later repairs. Match serial range, engine, transmission, PTO setup, and model code before ordering parts or doing service work.
